My trip to… hellimean… Cooperstown, NY

Yesterday was such a fun day. I had a job interview at subway, so my grandmother took me to that. For once we got there early! So i sat there and waited for the woman interviewing me to get done with her job. So when the interview finally started, I had sat there for over a half an hour, (not bad, but nerve racking). She asked me the basics like “What do you feel you can bring to subway” and the like. So when it was finally over, my grandma took me to her house to get my sister so we could leave for Cooperstown.

The trip started ok, the occasional bad driver, but you can’t avoid them. We stopped and had dinner at Cracker Barrel, then left. Of course the main bridge had to be out so we had to take a detour that ended up being an hour out of the way. By the time we made it to Cooperstown it was around 6:30. We looked at some campgrounds and one was hideous. The neighbors were scary, they had a “petting zoo” and a putt-putt course made from old trashcans.

We then decided to go see the hospital where my grandma would be working. She was telling us a little bit about it, and how it looked like the hospital in our home town. She then started telling us about the new heart clinic when she drove into a pothole and blew up the tire. Of course, when this happens its during a downpour and there is thunder and lightning.

A volunteer firefighter comes and changes the tire for my grandma, and by the time hes done, the AAA towtruck is there. We drive to his shop because he said the tire wasn’t good enough to get us the 3 hour highway ride back to Elmira. So in the shop we look at the tire and there is a golf ball sized hole in the tire and it was beyond repair. The repairman ripped apart an old car to get the tire off and in the process we were there for over two hours.

Then things started to get creepy. The repairman started flirting with my grandma. He told her how he was a urologist, an ambulance driver, a painter, and everything under the sun. He then told her how he moved up here from Houston, Texas, and vowed to stay in New York after his wife left him in the 1990′s. Then my grandma was giving me her password to her cell phone and it was her birthyear. The repairman said, “Oh, its 1970.” (I hope not, my mom was born in 1969…) When it was all fixed we were going to get a drink and he followed us down the road. My grandma the whole way home kept asking if he was following us.

We then went to a Best Western to check the rates as my grandmother has yet to find a place to stay. We got in there and there were these annoying little brats running around. She walked up to the desk and waited for the man who appeared to be watching the children to talk to her. He didn’t. He, as she later found out, was made of wax. The fact that he was missing fingers should have tipped her off.

After that happened we went to get ice cream, and my sister found someones wallet and they spent a good half hour trying to find a phone number to call the guy. We finally left and got home and it was after 1. Mom said she left the door unlocked for us… and guess what… it wasn’t unlocked. Its pitch black out, dead silent, and we’re locked out. My grandma called into the house (as no one was answering the door) and mom came and unlocked the door. I went into my room and went to bed.

Now today, Im sick and feel like garbage. “Thanks alot Cooperstown!”

I’m still alive

Just posting to let everyone know I’m still alive. Not much has really been going on, blogworthy anyways.

I went to the orthodontist yesterday and they were running behind (as usual), so my mom goes up and asked how long it would be, because my sister had a doctor appointment around 4. (My appointment was scheduled for 2pm, we got in at 3). So the secretary goes up and the moronic dental assistants start complaining, and im sitting right there (mom ran out to the car). Then when they finally call me back, the start telling me stuff like “You mom doesn’t like me working on you” and “how can you stand to be around her.” I mean come on, I was tired and kinda mad at her for yelling at me, but its common sense not to talk about someones mother when they’re right there.

So after the orthodontist appointment, I came home and my mom took my sister to the doctor, and asked if I could watch the dog. I said sure. The dog was laying down in the living room by his cage and i layed down on the couch. The next thing I knew, it was 5pm and my sister and mom was home, and they took the dog out. I went to my bedroom and slept until about 6.

So, thats about all thats really happened.

Oh yeah, I’m also working on some new projects.

The first of which being a blogging platform, im a good portion into it now.

The second being The Hangout Resurrected. I got a good chunk of the layout and message board s done. It should be cool once its done.

They’re trying to kill us & The Bride of Chucky

AAAHHHH!

The last couple of days have been quite hectic, but I’m not going to really get into that. Since its summer, I have become nocturnal staying up until the sun rises, then going back to bed. It turns out that Today, I slept until 4pm and no one bothered to wake me up. You’ll never guess what woke me up….

GAS from the stove. Someone had turned the knob of the gas-powered stove on so there was no flame, but gas was being emitted into the house. The worst part is no one but me could smell it. So the second i smelled it, i traced it to the kitchen and turned it off. I have no idea how long it was going, but do you know how bad it is to smell gas first thing when you wake up?! And then have no one else smell it?!?

The Bride of Chucky
And now for the movie. I couldn’t sleep last night and The Bride of Chucky was on tv so i watched it. Let me just say it was really strange. Many people (my mother included) are freaked out by the movie…and I just found it funny. The characters die in the strangest ways, from the mirror shattering and killing the newly weds, to the guy getting hit by the big rig. It was so cheap looking it was funny. The thing that kinda confused me was the fact that if you shot or stabbed the dolls they would “die,” but they’re plastic. Would it really hurt them? And why did no one notice the knife in Chucky’s pocket? Overall I got a fairly good laugh out of it. :D

A Great Friday & Saturday

Friday

Friday started out crappy. First off I overslept so I was rushed in the morning. I went to art class and that was fine, but then for gym. For the last unit I was in Ultiment Frisbee (link in last post), and because it poured the night before, we got to play mat ball (the indoor version of kick ball) Anyways, we played it, and i didn’t do too bad, I had made a few homeruns, but near the end of the period I was on third base preparing to run for home, and mat ball allows more than 1 person to be on a base, the girl in front of me ran and I ran behind her, she stopped suddenly and to avoid hitting her, I stopped hard on my right foot and twisted it really bad, luckilly the gym class had three minutes to go. So i left and went to spanish and bombed the synonym quiz. Following that was locker clean out (which I had already done, so that wasn’t a problem). English, the last class of the day was horrible. The people sitting across from me were acting like idiots and driving me nuts. We reviewed everything we had read during the year. It was so boring. The period ended and I went home and took a nap. After doing that, I couldn’t sleep that night. :gloomy:

Saturday

I was laying in bed trying to sleep when around 1 am a bunch of sirens came flying by, I figured it was a fire or somthing, so I didn’t think too much of it. I woke up around 10 and mom was talking to my brother about having to run to the bank, and he wanted to stay home. So she said to lock the windows and doors (which kinda confused me until i knew what happened). She told me about a state trooper who was shot at 1am this morning, so I checked the local news site and they said this

NY State Trooper Shot

Town of Veteran

Police tell WETM 18 News they are searching for a vehicle and a person of interest in the shooting of a New York State Trooper early Saturday morning.

43 year old Ralph Bucky Phillips escaped from the Erie County Correctional Facility near Buffalo in April. Police say he is a person of interest that they want to speak with. They will not call him a suspect.

Phillips is described as 6 feet tall, 235 pounds. He has brown eyes and brown hair.

Police are also looking for a vehicle of interest in the case. It’s a 1992 white Chevy pick-up truck with plate number CYL-5410. Police say the suspect could have switched plates since he stole the car. The truck also has a silver toolbox in the back and a blue tailgate.

State Police say Trooper Sean Brown and Donald Will approached a car during what is being described as a routine traffic stop on Parrott Road. The car is said to be a dark colored Ford Mustang with a possible convertible top. The driver, described as a white male, fired several shots in the direction of Trooper Brown. Brown was wearing a bullet proof vest at the time. He sustained a gun shot wound to the abdomen. Authorities say the driver left the scene speeding off eastbound on Parrott Road.

The Ford Mustang involved in the shooting was recovered on Wygant Rd. in the Town of Horseheads at around 11:45 Saturday morning.

WETM 18 News has learned that Trooper Brown age 30 is a four year veteran and is recovering from a single gun shot wound and is listed in fair condition in the intensive care unit at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Elmira.

There are alerts posted in New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Jersey and Canada looking for the white pich-up truck.

State Police say a full-scale search for the suspect who shot and wounded a New York State trooper in Chemung County on Saturday morning will continue first thing Sunday morning.

If you have any information you are asked to call the New York State Police at (607) 739-8796. Stay tuned to WETM-18 News and www.wetmtv.com for continuing coverage. We will have Live updates every hour on the figure hour.

I was amazed. That was the third time that had happened in the last 3 years.

April 2004 – Dustin Briggs shot and killed two Bradford County sheriff’s deputies .
March 2006 – State Trooper is shot after pulling over a car, which unbeknownst to him was filled with a group of people who had just robbed a bank.
June 2006 – Trooper shot after pulling over a dark Ford Mustang. As of now, trooper is in Fair condition at a St. Josephs Hospital in Elmira, NY.

Isn’t it horrible whats happening around here. And this is suppossed to be a nice town to live in. 8O

Blogging & My braces

Over the last few days, I had my confidence broken for an extremely stupid reason. And with that, I ended up deleting the entire site and started over. I wrote my entry about “Jim Jones” and originally called it ‘My First “REAL” post’ and to be quite honest, thats a load of shit. Why i listened to a stupid person on what blog content should be, I will never know. Infact according to WordPress.org a blog is

“Blog” is an abbreviated version of “weblog,” which is a term used to describe web sites that maintain an ongoing chronicle of information. A blog is a frequently updated, personal website featuring diary-type commentary and links to articles or other Web sites. Blogs range from the personal to the political, and can focus on one narrow subject or a whole range of subjects.

Many blogs focus on a particular topic, such as web design, politics, sports, or mobile technology. Some are more eclectic, presenting links to all manner of other sites. And others are more like personal journals, presenting the author’s daily life and thoughts.

With that being said, the blog is MINE and its my decision what I write in it. At this point, I could care less whether or not I get thousands of visitors, or even if my coding is “up to standards.” I have always seen it as if it works in “most” browsers, I’m doing somthing right. I do the blogging and web design in my FREE TIME as a HOBBY. And to be honest I do have a life and I do not plan to spend every waking moment for the rest of my life trying to have perfect coding and reach thousands of visitors a day. Don’t like it? Go screw yourself.

And now for my braces :yuc1:
For the last couple days the wire of my braces has been moving to the right, like it normally does. But for the last few weeks the wire has moved really far over. Infact it looked somthing like this.
Teeth So because there is so much wire on the one side, it keeps stabbing the side of my mouth and it SUCKS. So i decided to cut it (and succeeded I might add :) ) You’d be suprised at how hard it is to cut brace wire. Oh well. :D

Et tu, Bruté?

On Friday, I got to take a wonderful multiple choice test on The Tragedy of Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare. It was a 40 question test, and it was AWFUL! First off, many of the questions, more than one answer would have worked. For example…

Caesar’s last words . . .
A. showed Caesar knew he should have died
B. shows Caesar and Brutis’ friendship
C. showed Caesar’s anger and suprise at Brutis’ betrayl
D. showed he could have survived if Brutis has not stabbed him.

I chose B because it seemed right to me. Then after the test was over, I supposidly missed 10 questions. (Many of which were correct but the moron who graded my test (it was student graded), counted a bunch wrong, that were in fact correct. Then the ones that were wrong, I went up and literally argued with her for about an hour as to why they should have been correct. I think I got a good portion of them back, but who knows. It was quite funny actually, she turned a really bright shade of red and looked as though she was ready to strangle me. ;) Anyways, earlier today we wrote an essay on one of the tragic heros of the play. It didn’t go so well for me. We had 80 minutes to write the essay, and I was only about half way done when the period ended. I don’t know what happened. Usually I can write fairly quickly, but not today. So I have to go down during my lunch period to finish. Should be loads of fun.

STRESSED OUT

Stressed Out

Ok, Im seriously gonna lose it. Today started as a somewhat normal day, but it turned to CRAP amazingly quickly. First my mom is kinda going insaine, getting mad at things that really don’t matter. We have no idea why but shes been yelling at everyone a lot. Then I go to my grandmothers for late easter dinner (a few days late, but whatever). We eat and everything is fine, but then my grandma tries to make me feel guilty about not staying the night at her house, she pulled out pictures and books I used to have her read to me when I was little. (Her guilt trip worked). So now I feel like a piece of crap for not spending the night, but to make matters worse, her dogs irritated my allergies, so I now have a splitting sinus headache. Then the icing on the cake. Mindless Trio, my main site was hacked. I am just so thrilled right now. :shout:

Protected: My Meaningless Thoughts on…

Im not sure how popular this is in other places, but have you ever heard Stupid Girls by Pink. It the first song I have heard in a long time that gets “it.”

What happened to the dreams of a girl president
She's dancing in the video next to 50 Cent
They travel in packs of two or three
With their itsy bitsy doggies and their teeny-weeny tees
Where, oh where, have the smart people gone?
Oh where, oh where could they be?

Until I heard this song, I figured no one understood the stupidity of our generation. All most of the people my age care about is how they look and what others think of them. I’ve listened to Pink since I was younger, and wasn’t obsessed, but this is the first song I have been able to really relate with, and actually sit down and think about.

Disease's growing, it's epidemic
I'm scared that there ain't a cure
The world believes it and I'm going crazy
I cannot take any more
I'm so glad that I'll never fit in
That will never be me
Outcasts and girls with ambition
That's what I wanna see
Disasters all around
World despaired
Their only concern
Will they fuck up my hair

Her song shows how women fought to get to where they are now, and today’s girls are just letting it slide by, and pretty much making all the past womens hard work meaningless. It may be just me, but its really annoying, the people who are like that. I mean, get over yourself. Looks fade, and once that happens, what do you have left, and mommy and daddy won’t be there to support you forever. Get off you ass and do somthing other then sit and whine.

A really crappy day…

Today SUCKED!!! Last night I went to bed at about 7:30, and slept throught, but when 6:20 rolled around, do you think I was well-rested and ready to get up. WRONG!!! Then my neighbor and his STUPID girlfriend, (WTF was she doing at his house before 7 in the morning?!? :yeahright:, come on hes not even in 9th grade yet). But then of couse there are absolutly NO seats on the bus, so I had to sit with my friend Dan, (he’s not really my friend, but we talk sometimes. He carries all his books with him in his backpack so he took up the entire bus seat. Already to a great start!. Then I got to school, I figured “Art period 1/2, Couldn’t get much worse.” WRONG! yet again. This stupid bimboish girl Stephanie was being a real *** today. So we were arguing the entire period. Then gym. YAHOO, gym, everyones favorite subject. We had to run 2 laps around the track (1/2 a mile), not a big deal right? It was hot and my friend hurt her leg so I had to run alone, it SUCKED! :shout: Then I had spanish. It went fine until about the end. We had a listening “quiz,” of course when your having a bad day, there always manages to be a “pop-quiz.” Anyways, I screwed it up missed 15 questions. :duh: Lunch/Activity was next, nothing too bad happened then, but I wanted to go home. Then english, we reviewed Act III of Julius Caesar, so much fun. Then we had a quiz (YAY! Another Quiz!) :clock: After that I got to ride the bus again! I sat by my friend (who smokes), and she smelled so much like smoke. It was awful. By the time i got home I had a splitting headache :ill_h4h: So I had a quick snack and got a shower, and now I am writing this. I am so deathly tired, and you could probably care less, but hey I needed to rant somewhere. :banghead:
