Here’s the good Samaritan, looks away and carries on…

Figured it was time for an update, (I really need to get better at this). Anyways…

During the summer, I had come to believe that when school started, there would be TONS to blog about. It’s pretty safe to say I was wrong. I am counting down until the end of school, sad I know (it started about 3 weeks ago). Since it started, I have been drained and I don’t know why! My classes are cake, but still I come home and sleep until the next day, then its a scramble to finish the homework. A vicious cycle in my opinion.

For this unit in gym class, I decided to take canoeing just to get my S out of the way. (For those who didn’t know‑probaly many people‑in order to pass gym class, you need to take 9 units and for each you gain a letter. So to get your credit, you must get FITS and FIT to finish gym. 2 Fitness, 2 Individual, 2 Team, and 1 Swimming. ) I don’t really mind canoeing, but today was a pain. We were at the dam near my house, and we had to canoe/kayak across the resavoir and navigate through an obstical course.

(Because I have nothing better to do, heres a diagram)

Canoe Path

(<sarcasm>Great quality I know</sarcasm>)

I did the kyaking part just fine, but then by the time enough canoes had made it back, everyone already had a partner, so I went alone. Until you do it alone, you don’t realize how hard it is to steer one by yourself!

When I got back to school, I was extremely tired. English then art followed. I FINALLY finished my charcol self-portrate. I HATE doing self portrates (or people in general). The teacher actually hung it up in the multi-media center! (Stupid Mr. Malloy criticizing it, I’d love to see him do one at all!)

Oh well, I’m sure you love reading about days when nothing out of the ordinary happens.

For those of you who were wondering, the title was taken from Chumbawamba’s song “The Big Issue,” one of my favorite songs. I couldn’t think of anything, so I resorted to stealing. Oh well :P

EDIT: How could I forget this. So dumb, yet so strangely entertaining…

Wow, it has been a rather uneventful few weeks (as I’m sure you can tell). But I figured I’d write about it anyways :P
Sunday - I came home from Cooperstown, it was actually a nice getaway (rather it was until I ran into my schools soccer team… but anyways). I came home and wrote my 400 word journal entry on Martin Luther King, Jr.’s quote and finished “most” of my spanish packet. There was a short marathon of “A Different World” and I watched it (Don’t know why, but I enjoy that show). By the time it ended I had a splitting headache, and fell asleep.

Monday - Due to my need to watch that marathon, I was extremely tired. I had my rice with hot sauce as usual (A Great Breakfast huh?!). Then went to school. The day itself was rather uneventful, except for the fact that it was hot and sticky inside the school (always fun!). I went to my classes as normal, and in note taking we had a test. Basically we had to convert sentences for superwrite to english, not too hard, but I forgot some symbols for “like”, “we’re” and “of” (of course I remember them AFTER the test was over :P .

For those of you who are curious as to what we did, heres an example of a paragraph.

Short Write Example

This paragraph says (if you couldn’t figure it out)

A Blue Light
I need a bright blue light for our stage play. I will find a light for our play, or you can find a light for me. As you know, you are a fine aide. Your blue light is right for my easy play. I will use your light right here.

Anyways, the rest of the day went fairly normally.

Tuesday - I had stayed up late again Monday night so again I was tired. I went to spanish, like I normally do; and because there is a rule at the school where teachers are not allowed to keep windows open at night; the school was extremely HOT (due to the heat from Monday being trapped in the school). It was horrible all during period 1/2. Salvation came when there was a fire drill and we were allowed to go outside. I then had canoeing the next period. We were to capsize kayaks and re-enter. That I am not going into right now o_O. Lunch 5/6. English 7/8, we were assigned another stupid journal. A pain in the butt, but what can you do? Finally 9/10, I worked on my self portrate (I HATE IT), then I got to leave period 10 to go help Mrs. Harrington put up a Rachel’s Challenge bulletin board. Then after 9/10 ended, I was able to show off a few of the websites I’ve made. They looked pretty amazed at some of them (especially this one, featuring people from my school). It was kinda cool to get praise. I got home around 3:30 and went to start on my journal and spanish paragraph. I sat in my bed and started writing, I began to doze off, and the next thing I know, its 6:15AM!!!

Today - I forgot to do my spanish and english homework! I was rushing around trying to get ready. Around 6:45, I sat down in the living room and started working on my spanish essay (due period 1/2). I got a couple words down, then we had to leave. I worked on it a bit more on the bus, then in the spanish room. I taked to my teacher about a shooting that occoured in a town near ours, then I finished my essay. We used Auralog in the computer lab, then I went to note-taking. During notetaking, I found out I forgot my english journal at home. Luckily, I hadn’t written very much in it (for the entry that was due today, but still). So next period (lunch), I typed it out in the computer lab (and it took me 20 minutes to type it compared to 40-60 minutes to write it by hand - go figure). So after I finished, I had an hour to do whatver, so I had my friend Tom and his sister Kaylee test it out. On to english, wouldn’t you know it, he had us write three entries in a row without handing it, and the day I forget the journal, he collects them! I tell him, I wrote the entry, but forgot the journal, it was alright, but its amazing how true murphy’s law is. Then to art, I worked on my self portrate and I got the ear right! (but thats about it :P ). Rode the bus and came home.

Hmm, now that I look at it, its a faily long entry for a not to interesting few days. Oh well.

Return to Cooperstown

Written: September 17, 2006 at 10:36PM EST

My grandmother had recently taken a travel nursing job at the hospital in Cooperstown and I wrote about it in this entry.

Well, this weekend we went to Cooperstown to visit my grandma (and to see what was up there). It went suprisingly well (considering what happened last time). Anyways, we stayed at a Hojo it was REALLY nice. Then yesterday, we went to the Main Street section and looked around. There was a ton of stuff there and the entire town was clean and for some reason 1920 came to mind :D .

We then went back to the hotel and I was suprised to see a van from my school district. Thinking it was probably some district bigwigs, but I was really wrong. It turns out a couple of my teachers were chaperoning the Girls Varsity Soccer Team and their other hotel gave away their rooms, so the stayed at the hotel I was at (STALKERS!!!). They had to be in their rooms by 10 and I hung out in the lobby/arcade/computer room thingy all night, then we came home today. All in all not a bad trip.

Now for the fun part. A nice 400 word composition on

“If a man hasn’t discovered somthing he will die for, he isn’t fit to live.”
-Martin Luther King, Jr.

and then I have to go and finish my ACE Spanish packet. (yuck!)

From Makar’s CD was a song called Moskau by Dschinghis Khan and I was bored so I sarched youtube for the song and I found it. It’s quite strange, but I figured I’d share it anyways :)

I’m also “attempting” to make a new layout (because I HATE this one with a vengence). Any suggestions?

EDIT: I made a new layout (if you didn’t already notice) and I kinda like it :D

T minus 24 hours…

Written: September 5, 2006 at 1:49PM EST

School is starting in just over 24 hours and I have this to say…

“I DON”T WANNA GO! :bawling:”

It seems like summer just started and already its time to go back. Its amazing, my mother said she isn’t even ready for us to go back. All I can say it’s not a summer I ever want to relive. But anyways, this year is going to be a lot different mainly because of my brother and sister. My brother is going into seventh grade (hes the youngest of my siblings) and my mom is petrified of him going. Not that I can say I blame her, middle school sucks. Then my sister, she is going to be a freshmen and we’re going to be in the same school together.

Not that its a really bad thing, but it is going to be strange. Theres a chance we’ll be in P.E. together or bump into eachother in the halls (actually I can guarentee that will happen).

My mom keeps saying that this year and next year will fly by, but I doubt it.

Check back tomorrow for more about my day in hell (a.k.a. High School)
