You can NOT live without it!

Anyone who uses Wordpress needs this plugin, it is the Twlight: AutoSave plugin. A cookie is created while you are typing an entry, and then when something goes wrong and your mile-long entry is gone in a flash, Twilight: AutoSave has your entry stored within a cookie which is accessible for a week (long enough to go back in and save it!)

Anyone ever mess with Movable Type? Rose has had been talking, (well writing about would be a better way to state that) about it, so i decided to mess with it today. BAD experience. First off, It took quite a long time to get the program (I guess thats what it would be called) installed, then running. Then I attempted to export the database from wordpress and import it. Guess what! It didn’t work. I’m quite content with wordpress, but I am still interested in Movable Type. If anyone knows of a tutorial or walkthrough of how to convert wordpress posts to MT posts, please share with me.

EDIT: I already know about MikeT of Codemonkeyrambling’s tutorial. It failed to work for me.

Anyways, on a more non-techy note, I am half-way through finals week. I was able to finish my speech, and managed around 8 minutes in length (pretty good without using notecards). Tomorrow, Friday, and Monday are the days I am dreading the most. Spanish finals, days of preterite, imperfect, subjunctive, and perfect past tenses and then future, subjunctive, imperfect the oh so wonderful tenses of the present and future! I am dreading it. I was planning on taking Spanish V and VI next year, but I’m not too sure anymore, considering my poor ability to remember tenses, but luckily I can understand and somewhat speak and write it.

Out of curiosity, which of these appeals to you more?

Ciara's DogRobby's Dog

The one on the left is our families dog, Sasha, and the dog on the right is our my sister’s friend Robby’s dog. There was a poll on MyYearbook and Sasha won by close to 83%. I just want to see if the same views hold true elsewhere.

I’m losing my room 0.o

Written: November 19, 2006 at 6:20PM EST

Starting at 9AM tomorrow, my room will have quite a large gaping hole in it connecting to the bathroom. Great huh?

A nice way to start an entry, but I’ll fill in the other details. In my room there is a panel connecting to the bathroom, pipe access I believe. Anyways, for the past couple weeks, my and stepdad have been planning to have the bathroom renovated. They finally found a contractor and have everything they need.

Its fine, except for my room will be destroyed in the process! They’re ripping out a huge portion of my wall to rip out the plumbing and stuff, and with my luck, there’ll be mold or something hidden back there. So as a result of the wall being ripped apart, my room will be covered in drywall dust and then who knows how long it will take to get the wall put back in!

Hopefully I’ll get my room back before Christmas…

Still alive… I think

Written: November 1, 2006 at 5:47AM EST

Things have been quite hectic lately. Not that its a ton, but more than usual. To make matters worse, I think I’m getting sick or am sick. Nice 14-15 hours of sleep a day. Its so bad that I leave school and crash until the next day. Great isn’t it!

Anyways, I downloaded Firefox 2 the other day and I love it. The interface is nice and it keeps my preferences better than the 1.X series! I can’t wait until the v2 portable Firefox comes out, I use it at school… shows how nerd-like I am.

A bit more of an excuse. I am currently coding The Hangout Resurrected and making good progress. At the rate I am going, it should be ready for Beta Testing near mid to late November. If you registered to be a beta-tester, you will receive an email in a few weeks containing the instructions. Keep on the lookout.

Mindless Trio (and all Mindless Trio Sites) will be getting a face-lift soon. I think everyone will be pleased with it. Anyways, thats about it. New layout soon, hopefully.

Thats it for my all-over sum-it-up-in-10-sentences-post. Until next time.

I think I may hiatus this site. I don’t enjoy it right now. Too much writing for English! :P

School Countdown has Begun

Written: August 14, 2006 at 2:44AM EST

Joy, don’t you (or in some cases, didn’t you) just love (note the sarcasm) the middle of August. The time when the schools decide to send your parents calendars, lunch menus, and all the other stuff that tell you the end is near? I HATE it! It seems like Summer just started and its over already.

A little tidbit from the school year calendar also makes me wonder if teachers dread the start of school as much as the students do…

Hmm....

It’s little hints like that, which make me suspect they do. I mean, why would they include this in the school calender 3 times if it didn’t hold some meaning to them?

Oh, well. The Start of school is inevitable. (Sorry for the lack of updates. I will try and post more often. Shouldn’t be a problem when school starts though!)

Horseheads (such a morbid name)

Written: May 4, 2006 at 1:48AM EST

September 24, 1779 - this date hallmarks the time and hallowed ground where lie the true relics and sun-bleached skulls of the American Military Pack horses of the armies of Major-General John Sullivan. These peaceful servants of General Sullivan and his officers, with about 5000 “ragged rebels” (as expressed by King George III) brought forth a gallantry in the American Revolutionary War’s western campaign against the Six Nations of Indians (Iroquois).

Burdened down with heavy military equipment in their 450-mile journey through a wooden wilderness from Easton, PA over to Wyoming, and on up the Susquehanna River Trail to Elmira, NY, they continued north through Horseheads to the Finger Lakes Region and west to Geneseo. Returning the same route to Horseheads, these military pack horses had reached the end of their endurance. Here, General Sullivan, through humanitary reasons was compelled to dispose of these partners in the cause of American freedom.

A few years later, the skulls of the horses were arrayed along the trail in defiant fashion by a few returning Indians, as a gesture that the same fate would be met by any settler, should he attempt to homestead on this location. The first settlers, reading these Indian signs, promptly built their homes on the spot. The Town and Village of Horseheads rose in tribute to glorify the event. This location, first known as “The Valley of Horses Heads” was later changed to Horseheads, New York.

Isn’t that lovely. A town named after a road “paved” with decapitated horse heads. Don’t ask why i shared, was talking to Georgie, was inspired to tell her, so now I must tell you. :)

My Birthday

Written: April 27, 2006 at 2:30AM EST

All in all my birthday was a pretty good day. I got out of school :), got a steak for lunch! Came home, got a bunch of birthday wishes from SwayForum and a cool layout from LEIA (probably temporary but w/e), and went out to dinner at the Outback. There I got $120 from my grandma and uncle and a graphics tablet soon from my mom and stepdad. They sung their annyoing song, but it wasn’t bad. Oh yeah, I got an cookie cake from the mall. (Will post pictures when I get them developed :) )

A day of nothing and possibly a layout…

Written: April 15, 2006 at 5:42AM EST

Today, I didn’t do anything work/online related. Instead, I went to my friend Megan’s house. I haven’t talked/hung out with her in over a year, its a long story, don’t ask. Anyways, When I was there I met her new dog Dobbie (pictures later). He’s a boney little Irish Boxer (I think). Anyways, hes really small, and looks like Dobby from Harry Potter (go figure). While I was there I saw Jester, Megan’s other Dog.
(

Shes a really nice dog and she flipped out when I walked in the door. Anyways, while I was there, me and Megan hung out, then went rollerblading in the rain (really fun, but there was a LOT of worms to avoid running over :ill:. We attempted to do a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle, but it didn’t work too well :mf_tongue:. We then decided to color!!! :jaw-dropping:. Then I went to the gym and came home and typed this, It was a fun day, not productive, but fun.

Now that you know what I did today, heres some actual site news. In honor of spring (and the fact that im kinda bored with the orange/black), I am attempting to design a new layout for AF. Hopefully I’ll have it done before the End Of Spring Break (April 24th), but no guarentees. I will also be writing some more tutorials as well as adding some more quizzes and downloads. Thats all…now comment :)

Spring Break!

Written:

After months of waiting it is finally here. 11 Days of no school, not much but we needed it. For some reason my school thinks that we don’t need a spring break, but the parents thought otherwise, so they kinda squeezed one in. We go an extra day because of the lack of snowdays which is good I guess, but I like the cold, so I would’ve prefered a snowday. But anyways today was so chaotic (and deathly boring for me). I go to art which I have period 1/2, I finished my perspective project, so I just sat there. Period 3/4 I had web page design and because the internet was offline, we learned to use spreadsheets. It was the most fun I have had in my ENTIRE life! :yuc1: Period 5/6 I had a spanish test, I think I did ok, but probably not so hot on the listening. Oh well. During Period 7/8 I went to the computer lab and hung out (mainly because it’s Air Conditioned). It was extremely chaotic. My friends were being extremely perverted and annoying, so I fled. To make matters worse, there were a ton of substitutes (big suprise!), and they let everyone run free. So the school was in pure chaos. When period 9/10 finally came, I was bored to tears :bigcry1:. I wrote a stupid IRP Log. I finished with about 16 minutes to spare. She gave us free time. BAD IDEA! Kids were jumping out windows and running through the halls, there were fist-fights and the whole lot. So much fun! I finally caught the bus and went home. I took a nap, did a bit of updating on here, and its now 2:24 AM and i’m going to bed.

It’s been a while…

Written: April 1, 2006 at 6:56AM EST

Its been quite a while, so i figured it was probably time for an update. Um, not too much has been going on. I switched hosts to ashosted. I really like them. Fantastico, awesome tech support, and great uptime. Jacob and Chris both suggested that I move from TotalChoice to them. To be honest, I have no regrets (all except the serious lack of databases… at TCH i had unliminted, here i am limited to 20, or i can buy more for 10¢ per database. Oh well.

On a completely random note, join SwayForum. We are a strange bunch, but once you get to know everyone, we aren’t so scary…seriously. They are always having contests and there is really never a dull moment there. We have people from all over the world, so there is generally at least 1 or 2 people on all the time. Anyways, its about 1 in the morning, I fell like crap and I’m tired, so im gonna go to bed.
