I PASSED!!!

Written: October 16, 2007 at 6:09PM EST

I passed my road test! After two months of trying to take the damn test, I finally passed!!! No longer do I need to hitch rides from my friends or beg and plead to get a ride to work… and risk being late!

Although I am so happy about it, I am also sorta sad. Now I can drive on my own, and I feel like an adult and tere’s no going back. I don’t know, I guess I’ll get used to it, but its a BIG change.

I love the cool spring nights…

…they are just so relaxing. Anyways, its been a few weeks since my last update (basically I lacked the will to write, code, or do anything productive).  At the moment I am lacking any will to write in a cohesive manner, and thus my everywhere-and-anywhere post begins.

First off, school. Still sucks. Nothing new. They didn’t offer inline skating and I was pissed and was then forced to take “Adventure Games.” Basically, its s teamwork based class. Normally I hate it, but this year it is especially bad. Nothing better than having to listen to whiny freshmen, let alone be forced to be within 2 feet of them for more than a couple minutes. Luckily the unit is almost over.

About 2 weeks ago, it was my 17th birthday and I can honestly say it is no different than being 16. (Note to self, update about page…) . After weeks of waiting, I finally bought a Zune. I am well aware it has a bad reputation (according to many), but I love it. I always had problems with Ipods in windows so I figured I’d give the Zune a shot, and I am impressed. It doesn’t seem as fragile as an Ipod which is nice, but… like the iTunes software, it is bloated and slow. =\

The Junior Prom was last Saturday and I have to admit, I had fun. In school, I’m one of the people who hate being around other people, let alone when I don’t have to. For some reason I was actually able to let my guard down and enjoy myself without worrying too much about what everyone else was thinking/doing. It was a nice change of pace—however I am back to my paranoid ways.

So that right there Ladies and Gentlemen wraps up my weeks in 7 or 8 sentences. Oh boy, do I lead an action packed life! </sarcasm>

Wow!

I am so amazingly happy! First off, the second semester started yesterday and my classes are amazing!

Period 1/2A - Gym
Period 1/2B - Chem Lab
Period 3/4 - Chemistry
Period 5/6 - Algebraic Trigonometry
Period 7/8 - Lunch/Activity
Period 9/10 - American History

First off I have Mrs. Steigerwald, for chemistry, she’s so nice and the class isn’t too hard…so far, but from what I’ve heard, she makes it fun.

Then for Algebraic Trigonometry, I have Mr. Cook, he seems a bit eccentric, but cool and he makes the class easy to understand and it goes by so quickly.

Then finally, for American History, I have Mr. Vanzile. The class goes by so quickly and it doesn’t even seem like we are working!

Aside from the idiots I am forced to be with all day, my classes are pretty good, and I have my 7/8 lunch back! (I hate eating at 10).

And now for the best part:

I got a 100% on my English 11 Final Exam!!!! 16 pages on The Scarlet Letter and its critique of Society. Then I got a 97% on the Regents. I am kind of upset about the grade, but that furthermore proves I am an English Snob. :D :D :D
And more for egotism, Mr. Gaylord, my English teacher last semester said I was probably the top student in the class! :D
Anyways, what goes up, must come down… and now I will go enjoy my “ha-ha I beat you” attitude, until something goes awry and things go back to normal. :P

A pretty REALLY good day

Written: November 16, 2006 at 6:49PM EST

Today was one of those days that was crappy, and seemed crappy, but it turned out to be one of the best days of my life. Like most things, its best to start at the beginning, so I will :P
I woke up with a headache, wasn’t too bad, but still irritating. Ate my breakfast and went to school. Oh the wonders of school! Spanish period 1/2, SSDD. Followed by everyones favorite class “Gym!” Two Laps around the track then we played volleyball. During the period, the most amazing thing happened I, the most athletically-inept person, was able to play the game extremely well. This may not seem like a big deal to anyone else, but I am amazed. Never before was I able to play a sport as well as I did today! :D
Activity/Lunch came next. Not too much happened, although my headache did get worse.
English, the period I had been dreading all day was next. I was expecting to present my speech, which I am in NO WAY prepared for. Instead of presenting, we did notes the entire period. (I was quite relieved.)

Finally, art class, I usually am extremely bored with it, but not today! For our next project, we were to create a collage-type picture of which we were to eventually paint. The requirements were…

  • A World Famous Person
  • A World Famous Location
  • A Man-made Object
  • A Pattern or Design

For mine, I did Judy Garland standing in front of the Hollywood Sign with a spiral-like pattern in the sky, and finally with Dorothy’s House from The Wizard of Oz falling from the sky. All in all a pretty interesting collage(-type thing)!

Tomorrow I start sketching/painting it! I can’t wait.

By the end of the day, my head was KILLING me. Rode the bus, came home, finished my rice from breakfast, drank soda (caffeine should help right?). I woke up and it was 7:00. The guy who is redoing our bathroom was still here (he’d been here for over four hours). I went out had more soda and took an Advil, and finally my headache went away.

I got on my computer to check my email and see what I’ve missed the last few days in the online world. I get on and talk to Sarah a friend from SwayForum, then Heather (another one of my friends came on).

After talking for a while (with Heather), we finally confessed that we had a thing for each other (Like OMG!, I’m sorry, I had to :D).

EDIT:
dscn2429.jpg
Taken on Crazy Day at school. Heather is the one on the far left.

Then my grandma came over and told me she’s giving me my uncle’s old jeep and we can go take my test next Friday!!!

Its now about 10:50 and I’m off to bed, (had to get this entry in). That about wraps up my crappy turned good day!

Meet Sasha

Sasha

The last days have been crappy. But in order to keep this post somewhat upbeat, I won’t go into it. Just keep in mind if you are still curious, check out the last 3 posts, minus the Wizard of Oz one. Anyways…

Friday the 13th, like it said in the last post was crappy, so I when I got back from school, I fell right asleep. My mother woke me up because my grandma and my aunt were here; they were on their way to Albany to catch a plane the next morning (They’re in Myrtle Beach and didn’t take me!) After I woke up and they left, I turned on my computer and checked my mail etc, and I found a couple layouts for my sisters blog and one was of a dog. Out of nowhere she asked through AIM…

“Do you want a golden retriever?” I then replied with, “why> (note the type-o), then she said, “Do you?” I responded with “Kinda why?

Then, curious, I ran down to her room and my mom was laying on her bed and she told me they found a breeder outside Mansfield and we were going to go look at some puppies.

The next day, I woke up early and was excited all day (although I didn’t let on). My brother and sister however were ecstatic and could barely sit still. 3:00 FINALLY rolled around and we piled into the car and headed to Mansfield.

As the woman lived nearly an hour outside Mansfield (a two-hour trip for us), we met halfway in Wal-mart. We sat there and waited and waited, then finally the woman showed up.

In her car were 2 puppies and the father. We all got out of the car and looked at the puppies. They were so small! We looked at the two and we decided on the darker of the two; and as it was extremely cold, my sister held the puppy and wrapped her coat around the dog. It was so cute.

My mom did the paperwork and all the other stuff required (its a pure-breed dog!) and we came home. The trup home was rather uneventful as was the rest of the evening.

You would not believe how well behaved this dog is. Because it was an outside dog, it only goes outside to go to the bathroom (my mom LOVES this), and it doesn’t bark. Its extremely patient, but gets playful at times. An AMAZING dog.

I do still miss Gizmo though… :(

Return to Cooperstown

Written: September 17, 2006 at 10:36PM EST

My grandmother had recently taken a travel nursing job at the hospital in Cooperstown and I wrote about it in this entry.

Well, this weekend we went to Cooperstown to visit my grandma (and to see what was up there). It went suprisingly well (considering what happened last time). Anyways, we stayed at a Hojo it was REALLY nice. Then yesterday, we went to the Main Street section and looked around. There was a ton of stuff there and the entire town was clean and for some reason 1920 came to mind :D .

We then went back to the hotel and I was suprised to see a van from my school district. Thinking it was probably some district bigwigs, but I was really wrong. It turns out a couple of my teachers were chaperoning the Girls Varsity Soccer Team and their other hotel gave away their rooms, so the stayed at the hotel I was at (STALKERS!!!). They had to be in their rooms by 10 and I hung out in the lobby/arcade/computer room thingy all night, then we came home today. All in all not a bad trip.

Now for the fun part. A nice 400 word composition on

“If a man hasn’t discovered somthing he will die for, he isn’t fit to live.”
-Martin Luther King, Jr.

and then I have to go and finish my ACE Spanish packet. (yuck!)

For the regulars at Sway Forum, Angela, one of the admins started a thing called sway swap. And what you would do is say if you wanted to join, then she would pick your name out of a hat, and whoever you got, you had to make a cd and send it to.

I’m back

The Blog & Site

Hello everyone, I’m back after nearly three weeks of coding, and many sleepless nights I have finished my hand-coded blog as well as wrote up a new layout. After being on wordpress for a couple months, then suddenly deciding to switch to a new blog system is a pain, but I did it. 43 blog entries, 72 comments, and about 40 pages of content (all of which had to be handcoded). Although it was a lot of work, I did enjoy doing it, and I would reccomend that anyone trying to attempt this should try Codegrrl.com’s tutorial on Build A blog, its a great way to learn PHP and you end up with an awesome blog!

EDIT: back to wordpress. I missed it too much.

Now Back to Life

The last couple weeks have been kinda boring, not much has really been going on, its summer and everyone is either away or busy. My sleeping schedule is now completely and utterly screwed up!

Sleep: 6am - 6pm
Wake: 6pm - 6am

Its horrible and my mom isn’t too happy about it either. :D Oh well, I have the whole rest of the summer to get back on track.

The Dog!
A couple days ago was my sister’s birthday and mom my sister would joke with my mom saying “So and so is going to get me a dog.” And mom would reply to that with “Yeah, and then you and the dog will be living outside.” So as my sisters birthday got closer, mom had no idea what to get her. So the day of her party my sisters friends came over and they were acting like loonatics. The friends that came included (I’ll give name, my name for them, and a description of their personality)

Kate - Blue - Hyperactive twin of Liz. Petrified of me.
Liz - Pink - Hyperactive twin of Kate. Also petrified of me.
All(ie?)y - (No Nickname) - AAAAHHHH!!!!! She drove me nuts!
Tracy - (No nickname) - Just there, didn’t say too much.
Devin - (No Nickname) - Also kinda there, made fun of my sisters toes (strange I know!)
Kaylinn - The Indian Girl - Loud, and kinda rude.

Now all these girls along with my sister were in our tiny house from 5 until 8 and it was raining so it was nuts! They then went to my grandma’s house and spent the night there. (She was extremely brave for doing that).

So a few nights later, my mom still hadn’t gotten my sisters present. I saw her looking in the newspaper for dogs in the “For Sale” section, and she couldn’t find one. She was trying to be all secretive too, but she kinda gave it away when she asked what a maltipoo was. She looked all over and she couldn’t find any dogs that would stay relativly small (as our house is small enough with five people in it.

So yesterday we went to Holly’s Hounds (a pet store in the mall) and out in the hallway of the mall they had little puppies in a pen, my sister immediatly ran over to the pen and saw a little black and white puppy (kinda looks like it has cow spots). Anyways, my mom called my grandma who came up and inquired about the dog and we found out it was a purebred male Chinese Crested Powderpuff. We then ended up buying it, so now we have a dog at our house. Ill upload some pics into the gallery later.
